Back up and running

Alright so 2 weeks worth of updates comin at ya!
....
Ok not really, it has been about 2 weeks since I got back from Chicogo {omg the people there are freaking stupid!}. It was a lovely trip but at the end I was over it and wanted to go home,like REALLY wanted to go home ;-;. We got to enjoy Medieval Times, which is fantastic! Puts our Renaissance Fair performances to shame XD.

All in all it was a good trip, was so happy to see TJ again and now he has internet access again!

Now then, on to projects in the works.

Thief Blades: They have been finished and as of today are out of my hands. It was an OK experience, more or less the same as the other times. The pictures can be viewed on my Deviantart.

Master Sword: Sort of seriously started production of this project, going a bit slow. The handle and hilt are going well enough. Trying something new with the handle though, fixed in a steel rod, I am hoping it will make attaching the blade easier in the long run. The hilt is going to be multiple layers in block form as well.

Zanpakutō: These are still going very slowly, hit a bit of a snag with the scabbard of Shinzo so now I have to make a completely new one. The blades and the handle guards are going well at least.

All in all not as much progress as I wanted by this point but oh well. On a later note I have started apply for work recently so I may have to change the update schedule again. I am thinking bi-weekly instead of weekly, not sure. Either way the updates will change to better fit with work if I get any.

The Machinima is at a stand still at the moment, all I really have is this Video

It isn't much but its a start.

This week was more or less spent doing very little, only managed to get around to a few things and did not get very far with them.

Leon's Gunblade: Unfortunately this project will have to sit for a little bit, I have to work out a few issues with the design as of late.

Rikku's Thief Blades: This project will be underway again very soon, I just need to fix a few problems I caused

Zanpakutō: These 2 swords are coming along well, I just need to acquire the ribbons for the handle wrapping and I can finish them in the next few days. I hope to be making Zabimaru and Wabeske soon as well.

Future plans: These next few weeks the plan is to get more props sold off and to make more. As it stands the gunblade and the Zanpakutō have been my main focus, but next up I hope to finish up the King Bradley sabres and start on a Legend of Zelda Master Sword (still working out which version of it... LOL game remakes...). I also hope to make Aurons Katana Buster (that is what I am calling it...) as well, if anybody wants to take a crack at it the templates can be found in the File Catalog.

On a later bit of news, there will be no update next week as I am heading to Chicago to see my friend graduate from boot camp!

So next week will have little to no new stuff... on the plus side there will be a bigger update the Thursday after!

*ahem* So on later later news, I am hoping to start a Halo Reach Machinima series. So if anybody even comes here, please leave a comment on some ideas we should run with. At the moment the idea is to use song clips to create a Meme-esque production, not likely to be very long in playtime.

Ok, so this past week I have been getting more progress done out in the shop and I think I have a good number of things in the works. First off I am definitely in production of a Gunblade used by Leon from Kingdom Hearts, it has been going fairly smoothly. Next I have been working on a sabre used in Full Metal Alchemist, that has been a little rocky. And last I have a few swords in the works from Bleach, intend on cutting more soon and getting a few sell-able.

Leon's Gunblade
This Gunblade is based off of the one that Leon (aka Squall from Final Fantasy 8) uses in Kingdom Hearts. It will have moving parts and actual prop bullets that are removable from the revolver chamber.

King Bradley's Saber
This is a prop of one of the swords King Furer Bradley uses in the manga and anime Full Metal Alchemist. I intend to make the entire handle and guard 1 piece and the blade removable for travel.

Zanpakutō
A set of four swords based off of various Zanpakutō, swords made from the wielder's soul that have their own unique powers from the manga and anime Bleach. The shortest one in the picture will be Shinzo, a Zanpakutō tanto used by Gin Ichimaru.

Lazy Week

Posting the update as promised, but unfortunately this past week has seen very little productivity. I sent off the 2 super hero katana and I hope they arrive safely.

Planning out a Leon gunblade for the next few days, trying to figure out the mechanics of the chamber so that it can have bullets inserted. Made a bullet in fact, on the lathe {love that machine!}.

I also plan to start on a Gaara gourd soon, looking forward to that.

So next week will hopefully have more set up, going to have a couple things for sale soon.

Ok since I seem to no longer like updating on Wednesdays I will now update Thursdays, sorry for the procrastination.

Got a bit done this week, the Green Lantern and Superman swords are more or less done just gotta ship them out now

Sorry for the bad lighting, pictures taken at night in a not so well lit room. I intend to take new photos outside in the day to better show the colors, those pictures will be on my new DeviantArt account, ReflectedProductions.

Unfortunately there is no update for the Thief Blades, one of them basically broke when I was trying to make the other, gonna take a different approach with it. It won't take very long to get the stuff I need to do it either so I'm not worried.

This week has been very bland and more or less uneventful but I am hoping things will start picking up soon.

Gonna be focusing on katana all next week so I can get some stock bulked up and sell. Got to get more money to get more silicon and resin so I can do this stuff more often.

As for things I have in the works, I am working on the King Bradley sabre from Full Metal Alchemist, having some serious nerd moments too :B. I intend on starting the Garra gourd soon as well, can't wait to find out what foam sculpting is like, should be fun.

Working on a montage, so to speak, of one of the techno songs I like most right now, Terrible Ride by Lapfox Trax. Making it in Illustrator to basically force myself to get better at it. So far I just have a head, but I am sure it will end up just the way I want it too.

Sorry for the late update, was unable to post anything yesterday.

The swords are all painted, just gotta fix a couple things.

Sorry the Green Lantern pics are so dark, the paint only shows well in the right light, gotta fix that...

The Thief Blades also are starting off slow but I expect to get those ready quite soon.

Made a scroll case on the lathe for fun, I think I will use it.

I have been working on Illustrator quite a bit lately, unfortunately I still haven't gotten around to making previews for my price list, so I think I will hold on on pricing for a little while.

On time update next Wednesday!

Going a tad slow so far, wish I was further along. Ah well, things are going smoothly at least.

A week has come and gone

Well, not as productive of a week as I would have liked but I have gotten a few things settled.

First and foremost, 2 straight edge katana themed after Green Lantern and Superman, then another pair of Thief Blades from FF X-II and a Red Queen Sword from Devil May Cry.

At the moment I await silicone and resin to arrive so I can get this operation to full speed

Last week I said I would be posting prices for digital and traditional works, at the moment I need to whip up images as examples so people know what they're paying for but I can still give a run down:

Let The Madness Begin...

Alright, school is out the birds are singing and tomorrow the air will be filled with ominous Latin chanting and band-saw cutting sounds. That's right folks, I am up and running and ready to begin production on what I am calling Operation Reflection; the plan is to get a lot of wood and to improve my skills in the ways of making removable blade swords and combining plastic parts with wooden ones.

During this time I will be taking on Digital {Photoshop, Illustrator and 3DS Max} and Traditional {Pencil sketches and Airbrushing} commissions. The pricing will be explained soon, I have to throw together something of a list; it will be a part of my update next week. The woodworking commissions will also begin again soon, just have to get up off the ground.

As for a life update, I have been doing good, passed all of my classes {barely with 2 of them, teacher had no clue how to run a class}. I kind of enjoyed airbrushing this term:

I have also been playing around more with resin, latex rubber, plaster and fiber glassing:

Things will hopefully go very well this summer, so here's to a successful completion of Operation Reflection!

Getting there

The site is starting to build up as I add images to their categories, looking forward to this being done and ready for updates, the commissions will begin again soon I promise.

The main plan is for the summer to get a bunch of wood and make katanas like mad, sell them left and right on eBay as well as promote them on DA. The katanas will have customizable handle-guards, colors and scabbards can be optional. The handles, guards and habaki will be made out of resin to reduce work time (as those are the things that take me the longest @_@).

On the side I will be willing to take commissions again, as well as some personal projects I will end up selling once finished. Commissions will also be broadened to digital and airbrush media, that's right 3D, Photoshop and real media will be available for purchase and request.
